A Traditional Vessel able to operate both on the high sea and close to the beach. Since immemorial time the leudo was able to reach the shore, even with a full cargo in adverse weather conditions and when harbours were unavailable.
LaZigoela is the only one of 9 Leudi in the Mediterranean Sea, which still sails in the Ligurian Sea and is the flagship boat of the “Compagnia delle Vele Latine” Association.
The Association, founded on March 8, 2004, has the purpose of promoting and disseminating the Mediterranean seafaring culture. Affiliate, coordinate all those who carry out safeguarding, conservative restoration and recovery of vintage or traditional Latin sail boats, organize conferences, gatherings, promote sporting and cultural initiatives related to nautical and seafaring activities, defense and protection of the environment marine.
